Mm, this feels like early Lapis coloring. Later she got into really deep blue.

It's up to your sense, obviously. I'll probably be dropping some colored illustrations of Lapis myself, once I finish up the main story.

Ah I see, great~ I have quite a few great colorings on my PC which are done by friends, but can't post here, lol.

By the way, been meaning to ask you. Are you using discord?
If so, are you interested in joining the translator's discord there? Gotta warn, there's quite a few of us there lol (200+ actually)
It's just a friendly group of TL/Editors mainly for helping each other out with TL/wording related stuff and also just chill place for random topics.

...Hmm, I don't think it's a good idea. I guess I'm gonna stay in my little elitist channels.

            Aight then, all good.

Honestly speaking, the style is too different for me to chip in any opinons. Well, I think it could be a little lighter. The colors are so dark that the contours are hard to distinguish.

Haha, Well, this raw was made by a friend (She zoomed the pic from DC and stitched the parts together in PS so some places don't fit very well XD)
Well, I couldn't find better one LOL. Will buy V12 from BW soon so I'll rip it from there. (Totally not jelly of those HQ raws >.<.)
Oh BTW, Did you read it already? I only read the prologue so far LOL. (Made me want to read it ASAP but i don't have much free time to start it. I Cri Evrytiem.

May i ask where do you get your digital copies from? Been trying to get illustrations from Bookwalker Epub but it's encrypted so extracting them seems pretty much impossible. :X

          2. krytyk Post author

Bookwalker. The most you can do is screenshoting and glue'ing them together. Extracting is possible but... ehem, 企業秘密.

          3. Frozen

I see XD so it's possible huh.. *Challenge Accepted*.
Ok, Thanks. I guess I'll just read it for now and focus on that later. lol

          4. krytyk Post author

Nah, don't try. No basic decryption software or method will help you with that, you can spare yourself the effort. Instead you can just screenshot them at 200% zoom and glue them together, that'd be better used time.

          5. Frozen

Yeah.. I guess you are right, LOL. Well, i did find a way to extract the text but that's it :x
it comes down to screenshots in the end i guess.

          6. krytyk Post author

PS: I've been sharing ripped illustrations on the irc anyway (I always do on the day of the release).

          7. Frozen

Oh, i see, thanks. I heard you were going to drop some spoilers and stuff there but didn't know you posted illustrations as well.

You mean the antimagic's floating links? Maybe it's the guy who asked me for "permission to translate antimagic" about two weeks ago.

          9. Frozen

Oh someone did? lol. At first i thought that you dropped those TLs there XD

          10. Frozen

Nope, the Prologue has been floating around for about a month now. That comment is only ~2 weeks old.
People say it was TLed from Spanish...>.< Welp, no use talking about it here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Will just think that a dark knight appeared and saved the AMA community. LMAO

Was wondering.... Can we post AMA colorings here now that it has been taken down?

            Another Mission's Mari's chapter. It wasn't translated.

Woah, that colouring looks really great. In all seriousness, you made me want to colour something - though, I don't really have time.

As for the song, it's this one.

PS: a png version would be much appreciated. It's always better to get upload them at best quality possible. You can mail it to me on krytyk@krytykal.org and I'll upload it to wp's server.

Looks great, putting it up. Hmm, the usage of gradients looks so much different from my illustrations :3.

And... damn, wish I had time to colour one or two. Actually, I already picked one to colour when I have time.

Edit: wow, that's quite some low quality image, just 1000+px and compression visible with naked eye. I wonder why.

I just use the image on the pdf as a base image, ang because of some sharp area, I use Topaz Clean filter.

I color based on what I watch on your video but I can only see a little of it because it's too fast.

I only know that you use Multiply and Color, I understand how those two works same with Soft Light.

Just notice that the illustraion uploaded here has a higher resolution.

            Thanks for feature again ^_^

          2. krytyk Post author

Dammit, partially my fault I didn't zoom the image (I did click it, but it didn't open bigger, but that's possibly because of my script blocker).

It's great to see my vid helped, I do use topaz filters as well, but in moderation. As for blending layers, I use color, multiply, soft light, hard light, vivid color and color dodge. Sometimes darken and darker color if needed. Well, the way to use them comes with experience I guess? If there's a difference in style with yours, it would be that I use more toned down colours, which doesn't mean your colouring is bad in any case - just that the style is different.

            Anyway, reuploaded.

The... Shading? Lighting? Gradient?... is kinda harsh, but this looks kinda cool in it's own right.

Haha, true~ just roughly colored it so lighting and stuff is pretty messed up xD
Well, I'll share other ones later i guess. i think i have some AA illustrations left somewhere in PC^^

Ohh, that's a great one, although I'd tune some of the colours a little bit. (especially skin, you should use multiply blending layer base underneath so that it isn't completely white, try #fce6d1 at 50% opacity to start with).

          Anyway, added.

Oh, okay thanks for suggestion~ Since it was Lapis i kinda wanted to make her look a bit pale.. l guess i have to darken it a bit, haha. i always have trouble with the colors, lol. i might try editing it later when i find some time^^

          2. krytyk Post author

The lighter hair is better. Something also seems a bit off about her skin now... but I can't pinpoint it. Hmm.

          3. Frozen

Ahh right... the greys.... guess i missed some parts XD Anyway, thanks for the tips, I'll take them in mind next time i color something^^
Oh, yeah btw: can you change that one you uploaded to this one: http://i.imgur.com/mOjW40O.jpg. i think this one is better.

Is it not fanart or what?

Your work looks good man. You got the lighting right and the colors are well-chosen. Now that you got the basics right, why not try shading or changing the gradient so the images will look more realistic. Anyways, good work on the coloring. Hope to see you improve on it. = )

Yeah, I thought a gallery might be a good idea, things are being posted from time to time, but they're left behind in old posts... this way they can be easily browsed through.

        I see XD

well, i might be able to at least do 1 fanart in a month.
Though, i honestly hope that there would be more artist submitting fan arts here. I would love to see them. since i pretty much like all the series here XD

I started doing fanarts because I couldn't really help TLs and the Authors so I started to express my thanks and encouragements trough Fan arts.
