A Teaser

A teaser project -- probably not what people were expecting.

This is still somewhat in the experimental/prototyping stage. Good or bad, I welcome readers to leave a comment.

It's sort of genderbender, but also not quite. I don't want to be caught in that maze of tropes and ingrained expectations again.

Between your previous post, this new project, and a complete lack of Daybreak chapters in past months, following the earlier slowdown - is it safe to assume Daybreak dropped entirely?

No. I still want to finish vol4. I just haven't had much motivation to work on it with everything else going on in life.

    Honestly?

I'm seeing a lot of samey same with your last project. I'll be up front and say I dropped that one fairly quick as I found it lacking.

David Drake wrote a novel "warlord", you may want to read it. Overall much the same, but stronger.

    anyway....

For the love of god don't make Eve the king of N33T spreadsheet games a reinvention of war. Don't shoehorn a military romantic's view onto reincarnation world to make eve fly.

Reading its synopsis, reminded me of Legends of the Galactic Heroes, just replace 'barbarians' with 'Republicans'.

"samey same" doesn't give me much to reply or ponder on. Care to elaborate?

Anyone who writes war as romantic hasn't done their homework. But war IS addictive and gives purpose. See a veterans speaker describe it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGZMSmcuiXM
EVE is commonly referred as "a second job" for a reason, lol. The sheer amount of information warfare, propaganda, planning, organization, logistics: it's more in-depth than the best war simulator I've seen (and I don't mean silly strategy games)

Have you thought of posting this story to different writing sites like Royalroad or tapas?

Copypasta from my reply in the chapter:
"I've never really heard of Tapas (may look into it at some point). I have a rather disdain for RoyalRoad though due to the sheer Chunnibyou quality of stories posted there, or at least, used to be. I've had better experience in fanfiction sites, and that says something ^^; As a worldbuilder and storywriter, I take things very seriously and with a great deal of research, so I don't really wish to be discussed in the same group."

Not in the same way, at least. But it gives me the opportunity to play with my biggest reason to like gender-bender: the opportunity to discuss / make fun of gender dynamics and roles.
