It's a Conspiracy!

TMG_v05_143CReturn after a break. Although it doesn't feel like I had one at all... sigh, oh well.

Anyway, we've reached chapter 4, two more chapters to go.

I've been thinking about the schedule for a while, but reality is merciless. Especially the novel releases. Originally, taking 3 month breaks between volume releases into account, I planned to maybe pick something up and re-translate antimagic in the meanwhile between them, but reality hates on me hard. (MM/DD) 08/20 AMA 11, 08/20 OSO 6, then again, 10/20 OSO 7, 11/20 AMA SS, 12/16 OSO: Silver Goddess. What is this, a conspiracy? 5 volumes in less than 4 months? Are they trying to tire me out so badly that I die?! And I bet there's gonna be AMA and OSO volumes in January and February since they are both releasing short/side story volumes now!

And so, the plans are slightly changed. I'm going to focus on re-translating antimagic and the plans for picking stuff up are thrown outta window, albeit a little closer than the bottomless abyss in which Elvenblood resides.

PS: Have a cuddly, kawaii imouto since the chapter doesn't have an illustration.
PS2: I dropped AMA anime long ago, don't ask me about it.
PS3: Lookie what I got here~, a hi-res Another Mission's cover! (it looks just... so wrong, yet it's so good)

Lol AMA Anime endup with the same fate as Madan no Ou to Vanadis the plot had to many axe, which i think the LN had really small chance being license by Yen Press

Those kinds of animes are generally used to stir up interest in the main product which in this case is the Light Novel. So it's not like it was axed more like it was meant to end after a certain amount of episodes regardless. The only exception i can think of is Log Horizon in which the anime caught up to the Light Novel and had to stop because there was nothing further to make at that point.

I know what i mean is LN that had anime adaptation which cramped to much volume or had some skipping usually less likely being license, mostly the one that being license is the one that had almost all the story in the LN volume like black bullet almost the same gloom as AMA

It's trying to compress 9 volumes into 24 episodes, which makes it hard to devote any time to anything. Look at Heavy Object, which has 6ish episodes for the first volume alone. If there's an upside to it (if you can call swapping Usagi's arc and Suginami's arc still bearable), every volume past episode 6 would have three episodes to it, instead of just two. Hopefully.

I just went to take a look at how OSO was faring currently in its original WN version and have found that the latest two chapters (from Oct-20th and Nov-8th) are marked as "withdrawn" with their contents replaced by "So as to fix the part pointed out in the comments, the latest two chapters have been taken out for the moment. Thanks for your understanding."

Do you know what has happened?

No clue, but I know what you're talking about (krytyk does stalk original webnovel).

Thanks a lot for this chapter. I know I teased you about it taking an unusual amount of time but in reality even this chapter came out fast compared to pretty much any other translator. So if you feel like you need a break, don't hesitate to take one. It'd be better for you to take short breaks than ending up burning yourself out in the end.

It is definitely a conspiracy! Probably the companies that license all the good WN and LN. Just instead of using lawsuits to license a series, they now plan to tire the translators out instead! DX

The LN is hit by AD(Anime adaptation) disease, like most of the LN. Looks like Krytyk.exe needs a lot of water to cool down.
Anyway is it me or Mari gain *something* maybe just my imagination or the magic Usagi's uniform.

Krytyk is rekt by the release schedule conspiracy **giggle**
Don't force yourself to translate. Just take a break when you're feeling worn out. :)

    Hi krytyk ♡,

You should pamper yourself more. If you really want to take a rest, then do so. . . You deserve it. Or, you could ask someone to help you if you want to maintain regular updates for the novels.

Nevertheless, thank you for the hard work~

    Regards,
    Mika

Sorry krytyk, you're probably tired of people asking or having to explain why but I gotta ask

Why has elvenblood been dropped? I ended up getting sucker punched in the balls by RL while it was being translated so I'm not sure what happened when I came back.
Was it stopped after 2 volumes? Did it get R18 and you decided not to do it? Did it get REALLY fucked up?
I've been unable to find the reason on any of the previous posts....T_T

P.S. thanks again for all your effort man. Remember to give yourself some regular down time.
P.P.S. I dropped the anime after the 1st ep....almost as big of a disappointment as DxD season 3<-----(was utterly disgusted at how they ruined this)

Elvenblood was a real nightmare to translate because of how dark and fucked-up it is, therefore I decided to stall it indefinitely. I don't feel like touching it right now, maybe someday... but now? Forget it.

That's why I never watch the anime adaptation of a series if I've already read the original material w

    Thanks for the chapter o//

No, it wasn't. I didn't have time to do it. It's the next thing to do after I catch up with stuff.

Well the only saving grace for the anime for me is the ED sung by Kanako Itou. Thanks for your hard work as always.

Is it because the failure of the tone on anything other than the harem scenes? Or the distinct failure of it to capture the darkness in the books? Or is it the weird characterizations? Or my favorite, all of the above :) (I enjoy complaining about pathetic anime adaptations.)

It's the lack of the series understanding by anime studio. The story shown in anime is horribly shallow.

          true, that.

but the OP (Embrace Blade) by Afilia Saga was sooooo good!!!!
they could have gone for the Action-Plot instead of Ecchi-Comedy, that would have been such a better anime.
Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai is an ACTION driven book, the ecchi is just for breathing room to make the story lighter.

I'd say its story-driven book rather than action. Action driven would mean something like Asterisk is, which hardly has any actual "plot", and is driven by its action, whereas Antimagic has the big plot which drives it (especially volume 5 and on).
