It's over. The end, and the beginning.

OSO_v04_283So... OSO volume 4 is over, the end also marks the beginning... beginning of the long wait for next volume. Yay, doesn't that make you all so happi?

Well, back to the normal routine. Links are here: Epilogue, Afterword and Sense Build Data. Also, Full Text.

I'm going to put another remainder, because there's never enough. Please do try to buy the novels you've read and enjoyed on the blog. I know there's some discussion spawned on the topic of paying translators for fan translations... but screw that, rather than pay some random translators, you should pay what you owe to authors and publishers. They are the ones who have created the amazing stories you read. I don't want anything, though I might reconsider it when I start to starve and sell my kidney... except maybe, that tobi-doll someone said they're gonna make :P.

Comment on entirety of volume 4... a very good volume. The less-attractive parts of the webnovel have been rewritten in a good way, making it very attractive and fun. If there was one thing I'd complain about... it's not enough Toutobi, ohh Tobi-chan... how much do I love you...

Do you accept donations for the purchase of the volumes to work on? Id buy it myself but...whats the point? I cant read it and the artwork is better preserved as Data than yellowing paper.

I don't, I can afford stuff for myself by myself. The reason I'm encouraging purchase of the original books is because reading the content of it without purchasing it is akin to theft.

"What's the point of buying it myself when I can steal it"...?

I know anime/manga/novel reading english-speaking community just doesn't want to pay for stuff...

If its ever available in English I will buy it. I already own a considerable amount of manga and a few of the novels and light novels I enjoy. Few I really like have been licensed. Its a massive drag.

Wow, yessssssssss, just what I wantedddddddddddddd.
Now to get onto photoshopping it! :)) The quality is also great!

PS: If you got dragon magazine, apparently there's OSO short story in it. If you could scan it, I could translate it. I don't know details though.

Edit: This is the edited version of it (Link). I'll definitely put it up along with the next post along with credits to you for obtaining it.

Yup, that's the short story. I'll tl it... tomorrow probably. It's kinda late now.

I will also clean those illustrations to a degree (mainly pre-clean with denoise and leveling) and put them into the short story page as a set with translations.

And about the scans quality... it's great. Really. I've seen lots of various scans back when I was a manga editor in scanlations, so yeah, it's good.

Thanks for finishing another volume of OSO!
What are the chances of getting novels (like this one) with the setting of VRMMORPG to be licensed in English?
I know that SAO and Log Horizon has been licensed by Yen Press already, I'm just hoping for more novel such as this one to be avaible to use readers in a physical copy and support the work that goes into each volume.
Anyway keep up the awesome work and can't wait for volume 5 to come out!
BTW: any idea when that will be? ;P

I'll share the news for sure if I know when :).

No idea about licenses, but I know that US market is expanding. The amount of licenses announced just this year is unbelievable (when compared to previous years).
