Omae

Omae wo Onii-chan ni Shite Yarouka!? (Shall I make you big brother?!, お前をお兄ちゃんにしてやろうか!?) is a light novel series written by Sugiyama Ryuu (すぎやまリュウ) and illustrated by kakao.
Published by the MF Bunko, the series is complete at three volumes.

Story Synopsis

One day, Yoichi who grew up while not knowing his parents, received the news of his father's death. His father left behind a testament——which said he is to pick only one out of five 'little sister candidates'?!

"...I don't want to work, I want to laze around together with Onii-chan." (By Selene)

"Let's have a match! If I win, Nii-chan will... make me his little sister!" (By Tomomi)

"Onii-sama will choose me, isn't that right? It's our destiny." (By Sayuri)

"To become a girl, that's why I want to be Nii-san's little sister!" (By Yuuki)

"If Mii-chan becomes Nii-chama's little sister, she will become rich right?" (By Mika)

The little sisters who were presented to him had more than one or two odd quirks, a slapstick comedy between siblings starts here!

What I would do in this situation where Lawyer-san keeps going I can't tell you why, I would ask for everything she CAN tell me.

Few things I should point out:
      1. Please post your links here next time ;)
      2. It says "Translated by krytykal". Slightly wrong, krytykal is the name of this site, but the translators name is krytyk.
      3. I don't know if this is your prefered style, but why do you put an indent after every paragraph? It's doesn't look very good in this kind of novel, since there are paragraphs that consists of only one line and every paragraphs are seperated by a blank line.

Thanks for giving some advice, about point 2 will fix it immediately, and about point 3 I admit that is not look good for some novel that have one line. But when it's come to long paragraph I prefer to have indent to make it easier to read. So should I remove the indentation?

That is your choice, whether you want to have those indents or not. In my opinion it's redundant to have those indents in this novel series since it has one line paragraphs and most paragraphs aren't really that long. I think those indents would make more sense on text's that doesn't use blank lines to seperate paragraphes.

Ok, I will try experiment with no indent and will share it again if everything is ok
          Thanks

Any of them should be fine, I'll link some later. The edits were done right after finishing chapters.

Hmmm, since there are no links yet like volume 1, are the links in the comment section of both volumes ok?

Everything was moved to file gallery section. Ask Bareus who's in charge of it :3.

For some reason, whenever I try clicking a footnote in the full version of a volume, it only takes me to the first version of that number.

For example, footnote one for the section May 1st - Monday would lead to a blurb about takoyaki, while footnote one for the later section May 3rd - Wednesday would also lead to the blurb about takoyaki, despite corresponding with a blurb about Shibuya.

Basically, all of the one footnotes (and two, three, four, etc. footnotes) only lead to the first version of that number as opposed to their own corresponding entries.

.... How could his parents (as in mother AND father) receive the news of his father's death? Shouldn't it be mother/family, or the father be something like grandfather?

You read it wrongly, probably should have put a coma there. He, who didn't know his parents (coma), received the news...

I assume you're talking about the summary.

Don't ask for raws, don't post raws. That's a basic rule on any forum and blog.

Also, vol 2 and 3 translation is in plans soon™. (after OSO 5 and short story).

Lol everyone know that most translators buy and support the authors, man. I think that if you cant even procure one is a failure as a translator. Online raw is just because translator do not want to unbind their books

Sadly, most translators don't buy raws and rely on already uploaded rips. Well, doesn't apply to me since as you can see - I purchase the stuffs myself (you can easily tell since I sometimes release immediately after the book's release).

Thanks for your hard work. Since I expect a lot from Kakao sensei first illustration on Light Novels. His art is really good that it makes me fall in love on first sight. And the story are really interesting too. Moreover your beautiful translations are also one of the factor which make me like this series too. And if you don't mind can i have the raw too. It's not that i'm good at japanese but i at least can read some light novels and since i don't where to get this series.

Y'know that English is now a very vague language, since I can never understand some people who speak English.
And my native tongue is English too...

Thanks for saving your time and translate this LN. I'm grateful that you haven't dropped the project. Also, i read LN is mainly to improve my English, but since this is your side-project, there are some error and typo which i don't know whether they are wrong or not. So Krytyk, can you introduce to me some of the great projects of your that have perfect English? Thank you

Yes, translation is still active. This was a side project to begin with. So when Krytyk isn't working on Antimagic or OSO, either that or when he has free time he works on this one.

For those who are interested - A word processer and Calibre are all that is needed to make EPUBs, and there are various free PDF printer programs out there.

I've occasionally been doing this for other non-Epub light novel translations for ease of reading, such as the older RR: LMS volumes.

Copy the web page text to a Word or RTF document, then add the document to Calibre and you can have it auto convert to different formats such as EPUB, PRC, LIT, etc. Set your Author and title information BEFORE saving and converting or everyone who imports the Epub will have to edit the author/title to group items or prevent conflicts.

Thanks for the work put into this translation.

Out of curiousity, do you know whether this series was planned for the 3 volumes are was it cut short?

    Reply
    1. krytyk

I'm guessing it was planned to be ever shorter than 3, but they extended it. I.e. It has a proper ending at 3 volumes.

Don't you think it has similarity on "Kono Naka ni Hitori - Imouto ga Iru".
The MC is a child of the president of a big company the only difference is Shougo is searching for imouto while the MC on this one is selecting the imouto...

No I haven't, I'm not involved in creation of PDF's and EPUB's, that's something third parties do. Anyone who wants to make a PDF out of my translations and publicize it is free to do so.

Moreover, if someone does so I'll gladly add the links to the project pages.
