Update, and controversy! Daybreak Dev Diary #2: Let's discuss gender roles and feminism.

Daybreak v3ch5 is out. For you war-fiction fans, sorry no battle. For the rest of you, enjoy as we delve more into worldly differences, macroeconomics, and relationship turbulence.

Also, since many readers have complained about the large cast and trouble remembering them all, I created a list of reoccurring characters for your use. I'm trying to keep it spoiler free while leaving it informative enough to tickle your long-term memory banks. Suggestions for improvement are welcomed, as always.

Now, onto the feminist-yet-anti-feminist rant ^o^ because in many ways, as a genderbender, Daybreak is written in ways precisely because I am tired of the gender-stereotypes pervading media.

We interrupt Krytykal spam for...

I swear Krytyk is actually a robot, out to make everyone else's release schedules look bad =P

Anyhow I've been on a trip out of the country for the last few weeks which is why the latest Daybreak chapter took a while... again. The available chapters in volume 3 are also due for a general edit, except I've been too stressed lately to work on it (sigh).

At any rate, v3ch4 is long and covers a lot of genres, so enjoy =P The chapter title is still pending; I'm still looking for inspirations.

Happy August, have some updates

After an unexpected two months' delay, Daybreak v3ch2 is out at last. This chapter was an utter pain to write, so much that I caught writer's block during the middle of it. But hopefully you'll enjoy the results.

I also used this chapter to bring out the big hammer against people's misinterpretations. Many readers (especially back in volume 1) believed that Daybreak on Hyperion is a Medieval Fantasy due to the reliance on cold steel. Well, it isn't. Hyperion is actually in a far more interesting time period: Welcome to the Age of Imperialism. If you haven't picked it up already (by the Absolute Monarchy, the rise of Nationalism, the global exploration/colonization, etc.), the newest discussed technology should make this obvious.

Lastly, I also snuck in Weichsel's National Profile last week -- for those interested. Reference notes for the initial chapters have also been posted, including information for that spam of religious references in the prologue chapter.

It begins...

Welcome to Daybreak volume 3~

The prologue is meant to hint at yet another grand concept of the Daybreak setting design. Let's see if your religious wit is up to par. I'm sure the more conservative minded who are still here (after the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? really?) will be screaming blasphemy.

Since prologue isn't very character focused, I figured I'd wait until chapter 1 is available. Here~

Chapter 2 might take longer. Politics can be hard =x

Enjoy~
