The Mysterious Counter

OSO_v05_CoverWell then, OSO's release is imminent, just like the counter below suggests. But... what will happen when the counter hits 0? Obviously krytyk won't release any chapters the moment book's out. ...I'm not that fast...

But, will nothing really happen? If the counter hits 0, will the world be destroyed? Will every gamer be sucked into the virtual world? Will all the men on the earth be genderbent?!

No one knows, except for I. And... I don't intend on sharing the knowledge.

Re-translation release! Antimagic volume 1 re-translated.

TMG_v01_301COne day, I have looked into my oldest of old translations for knowledge, peered deep into the abyss... and was horrified. Thus I have embarked on a holy crusade to smite the evil.

That's how you could describe the circumstances of the new re-translation crusade. My oldest translations were nowhere NEAR my current standards, thus I have decided to redo them from scratch. Yes, these are new translations done line after line, it's not an edit. After combining of many evil forces like BT editing, my own newbiesness and old age, the novel was not only reading poorly but also had lots of mistranslations and format f*ck-ups. It wasn't as bad as the modern-day mtls, but bad enough to make me instantly get on it.

Now, for the future... OSO 5 next, then Omae wo. Meanwhile I'm gonna start re-translating volume 2 of Antimagic. I don't know how much re-translation will be required and when will I be able to start "normally" edit them.

Also, coloured an illu (kinda rushed and the illu is old) to commemorate the re-release, yay.

I'll drop a full-text link here. Although I'm pretty sure everyone knows how to navigate on the site already.

As for PDFs, EPUB's and other media. You're more than welcome to make one of volume 1.

Feedback on how does it read now and the improvement is much appreciated. I'm quite confident with this one.

PS: HQ ebook cover of OSO volume 5 appeared, you can find it in Volume 5 illustrations page.

Five Year Plan: Traps, traps, traps...

Toc toc, Kadi here.

No, not a release this time. I'll be working on that, I really will, but no. It's about WN reviews.

In the past. people have asked for "stories similar to Alice Tale", and I could only say "Yeah, there are none". I still don't know any, but there are other good stories out there where the male protagonist ends up with a female body. Or at least readable ones. And little-known web novels that I find interesting. So my latest stupid idea was that I might as well review some.

Therefore, here are the corner points:

  1. Reviewing something doesn't mean I'll translate it. You know better than I do that my plate is more than full with Alice Tale.
  2. Reviewing should not slow down translations (further). I can read anywhere, any time, but translation eats up mental reserves.
  3. I'm accepting suggestions. Email me under kadi@krytykal.org, subject: "WN Suggestion - *title*", and add a link to the WN in the mail's body. A little description and/or reason why you think I would review it will help draw my interest. I don't promise to review every story suggested, I won't even have time to properly read many of them, but knowing about more stories helps. Somehow. I'm sure.
  4. At first, I intend to focus on genderbender-themed stories, so send me suggestions for those. I'll probably start with the ones I like, worse ones and other genres coming later.
  5. Only stories appropriate for minors. I know of the adult-only sections of syosetu/narou. I know there are genderbender-themed stories in there. I know there are good stories in there. None of that will be discussed on the blog.
  6. No light novel reviews from me, not over the course of this series of posts. Trappy or not, don't bother suggesting them, it would be too much work. Hell, I haven't managed to read "I am a tutor in my sister's dress" for my own enjoyment, so there's that. (No, no visual novels with trap protagonists, either, although I remember two enjoyable ones)

... that's about all that's coming to mind at the moment. The first review should go up over the next few days. *drops dead* (go away, Vic)

So far!

P.S.: All WN suggestions in the comments will be deleted or crippled with much prejudice. There's a reason I want them via mail, and with their subject lines formatted like that.

I'm Alive! Kind of.

xxxzToctoc, Kadi here.

It's... been a while? I guess? Some people have noticed Chapter 28 which I uploaded in secret on... Easter? God, so long ago again already.

Anywho, I live. More or less. And I've done another chapter! And I guess it's only one more chapter before I tie off the current Part. Or maybe I move the cut forward once I've made more progress. Arc 2 is kinda bad to cut. We'll see how it ends up, because as slow as I've been, I intend to end it and do the give the best possible quality I can. Except for those pesky little "a"s and "not"s and the like that always slip through.

Anywho. I'm tired, you enjoy. Meowbe.

So far!

P.S.: Oh, right. Link.

Not a release. Update: A new coloured illustration.

OSO_v05_CoverSo, I said the next time you're gonna hear of me is when news about OSO come... I knew the cover is around the corner, but I didn't think it would appear just the other day.

As for the "guessing" competition. I think that would make Azurea and Happinezz001, as well as an Anonymous user the closest ones.

Azurea was the only one who mentioned elf girl >.<!! Both Happinezz001 and anon have mentioned Myu.

Now, to analyse the cover... well there's Myu, then Letia stuffing herself... and... there's far in the back, Yun, in fluttery white dress! It appears like there's stuff to look forward to. RISE, BELIEVERS.

EDIT: On 20th of may Only Sense Online's short story series is going to start in Dragon Magazine. Hmm.

EDIT2: Added a new coloured illustration to the gallery... and here. Enjoy.
