Status update, Antimagic and OSO Covers, volume teaser descriptions. Post updated.

EB_v02_CoverNow then, there weren't any updates for a while from me. I guess I needed a break (after rushing (Omae wo and starting up the new series). I'm hoping to restart translations soon™, to finish volume before Antimagic's and OSO's releases.

Meanwhile, releases are approaching and the low, loow, quality covers for volumes appeared along with volume descriptions. To sharpen your appetites I'll translate the descriptions alongside covers. :3.

Now, I have gotten my digital copy of Elvenblood volume 2. I uploaded some of the illustrations to illustrations section of vol 2.

I'm guessing the schedule from now on will be: Elvenblood 1, OSO 6/AMA 11, AMA 2 re-translation. See, I need to get my re-translation project to be worked on as well. Elvenblood has nearly 6 months release delay so I don't need to hurry with it. Also, it's dark as fuck, it depresses me :3.

Now, which one will go first, antimagic or only sense? I wonder.

I guess it's going to get a priority, so expect some more cute Myu very soon™! (Why not continue Elvenblood first? Obv, I need to heal myself after chapter 2 of EB!)

EB_v01_130CAnd I'm totally serious. It's hardly a spoiler since it starts early in the chapter. I might sound like I'm exaggerating, but I approach these kinds of issues very seriously.

If you are bad with extreme scenes and edginess or simply under age of 16 I suggest you drop the series. You're entering and destroying yourself on your own responsibility. I repeat again, there's a serious darkness and despair in this chapter. Also, extremely brutal, barbaric acts. You have been warned. Link is here.

Now, to another issue, I put the issue with honorifics on hold, in this chapter it was used more often and I'm going to delay the honorifics issue maybe until the end of the volume.

Also, the illustration on the right... blue-haired loli, crying... ITS REALLY NOT MY FETISH, IT'S NOT MY FAULT. IT'S JUST A COINCIDENCE.

PS: I'm hearing volume 2 is getting great reviews, just like volume 1 did. I still haven't bought it, but I'll mention it somewhere when I do :3.

PS2: I'm off to sleep, if your comment is stuck in validation (first time commenters), you'll have to wait for me to wake up, or Bareus will approve them if he wants to. (krytyk knows there's always lots of comments to approve after release).

Update PS3: Taking a short break, might take a few days until I release again.

EB_v01_028Helllllllo. Starting the releases in the earnest for Elvenblood. In this post I'm going to also mention some translation intricacies for the series. You could call it an insight into translation decisions.

For the first thing, enjoy the first chapter (not counting preamble), it's cute and mostly fluffy. See the illustration on the right? About that fluffy, link here.

Edit: Okay, on the second thought, I'm self-censoring myself. Maybe I gave too much spoilers.

All right, below I'm gonna add the section on a few things concerning translation this time. Well, they're mostly trivia on how the world works and such. Also, it's preferred if you read it after reading the chapter.

Let's start up the new, different darkneesss.

senketsu_kuchie_p01_aWell, for now let's call it "new darkness", I'll come up with something fun for it soon enough!

So here we go, a series with evil powerful pointy ears. Very unlike the other series I translated so far, the style is much more sophisticated... or maybe it's just my impression.

For what'll be from now on, I hope to complete volume 1 before antimagic and OSO come out. Also, meanwhile I also hope to continue working on AMA 2 re-translation (I have completed preparations for it, all I need is motivation now).

About Elvenblood, or EB, as from now on I'll shorten it. It has a quite long release schedule, much longer than OSO or AMA (5-6 months, as compared to 3 months) so it composes right in for a slow series (PS: volume 2 comes out today).

OOSY_v03_CoverAnd so it goes, I bulldozed myself through the last chapters... so I'm kind of wasted now, but satisfied.

Finally finished this, hmm, side project so to speak. Low priority project. In the middle of it I was discouraged by slow pace and had a hard time translating, but it really is a great, non-standard light novel slice of life story. I'm satisfied I was able to complete it, no matter how much I complain about it being hard to translate (non technically, it was mentally hard).

Well then, feel free to comment and share impressions of it. Not every day you can see to a series' ending and comment on that. Some might like the ending, others might not.

Personally, I do like the ending a lot. I don't like forced drama and forced twists. This kind of thing puts me in a good mood.

As for the new series... there are clues on the new series page, the only things remaining there are clues, all my trolling was erased. Yes, piggy, nyancat, nyanpirate, banana, nyansheep, time travel, grandpa krytyk were trolling. And it felt good :3.

If you don't find out what's the series is, well, I'll announce it anyway, when I rest that is. As for when I'll start with it... idk, but I'll announce that too.

PS: It's a relatively new series, apparently I have a new series fetish. (I wonder if it's me wanting to popularize less-popular series or unknown series).

PS2: Yes, it's been found out (quite fast actually, right away after this post was made). It's Senketsu no Elf, or as the English title states, Elvenblood by Fujiwara Yu.
